Carrow, Raphael Edwin
February 24, 2009, of Torrance, CA, age 90, formerly of New York and Miami. Born in Brooklyn, NY to Samuel and Ethel Cohen. 
First Lieutenant US Army Air Force 445th Bomb Group in WWII. Pilot of a B-24 bomber shot down in the Kassel Mission over Germany and taken prisoner in 1944. Awarded the Purple Heart and Air Medal among others. Graduate of the Univ. of Wisconsin, Madison 1940. His career covered real estate, investments and the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. Beloved husband of the late Carmen (nee Amaro), he is survived by brother Milton (Barbara); children with former late wife Beverly: Grant (Deborah), Stephanie, Breck (Paula); grandchildren Lissette Serota (Todd), Sussette Haubert, Daniel Carrow, Stephen Carrow; great granddaughters Kayla Haubert, Raina Serota, Maya Serota and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sister Sylvia Cabiac. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to the Kassel Mission Historical Society (KMHS), P.O.
