Edgar N. Walther piloted B-24 #44-10490 on the Kassel Mission of 27 September 1944. His aircraft was shot down near Hersfeld, and he was held as a prisoner of war at Stalag IX-C from 27 September 1944 until liberation on 29 April 1945.
