Edward Hautman served as a pilot with the 445th Bomb Group. He was Killed in Action (KIA) on 27 September 1944 when B-24 #42-109789 'Mairzy Doats' crashlanded 2.5 km SW of Bassenheim, Germany. AM w/ Oak Leaf Cluster, Purple Heart. He was honoured by the Sayler Park Historical Society at their Memorial Day service in 2015.
